Relay For Life of Fort Worth has been moved to an indoor facility at TCU because of the threat of thunderstorms Saturday, organizers said.
The annual free family event will be held at TCU’s Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Field, 3000 Stadium Drove. It was previously scheduled for an outdoor track at TCU.
All activities will proceed as scheduled. The event is taking place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Relay For Life is an organized, overnight community fund-raising walks. Teams members take turns walking around the track. During a Survivors Lap, cancer survivors take the first lap around the lap, according to the American Cancer Society.
This American Cancer Society event celebrates survivors with events held across the nation and abroad. Funds raised help pay for research, cancer survivor services and educational programs.
There are 43 registered teams. About 1,000 people are expected to participate, according to the American Cancer Society. The goal is to raise $150,000.
