A search for a monkey who bit a young girl Friday at Buc-ee’s could be coming to a close, police said Tuesday.
Police said they have leads on the owner and the monkey, who live in the area.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police had not identified the owner of the monkey.
Monday, police and Terrell animal control officials asked for help identifying the two after the girl was bitten.
Police released a photograph from store surveillance cameras of the monkey and its owner as they walked through Buc-ee’s, which is off Interstate 20.
The monkey bit the young girl about 3:45 p.m. Friday.
The owner and the monkey left the store and authorities were trying to determine whether the monkey had had all of its shots.
