A man in his 50s was fatally struck by a train Tuesday afternoon in south Fort Worth, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the area near McCart Avenue and Yates Street, just north of Interstate 20, about 1:40 p.m., said officer Daniel Segura, police spokesman.
The victim, who was not yet identified, died at the scene.
The train was an Amtrak train running on a BNSF Railway track, said BNSF spokesman Joe Faust. The northbound train was traveling from Temple to downtown Fort Worth.
Police and BNSF officials were still investigating the incident Tuesday. No one else was injured, Segura said.
