Police arrested a 17-year-old Wednesday after finding two people dead in a house in Crowley.
Carl Edward Brewer faces two murder charges, Crowley police said. Bail was set at $100,000 on each charge.
The victims’ names had not been released Wednesday evening.
Police were called to do a welfare check about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Buffalo Court, police said. Officers found the victims inside.
SWAT members were called and police evacuated several nearby homes. After a long standoff, officers took the suspect into custody Wednesday morning.
Brewer was arrested after he was questioned by police and the Texas Rangers.
Johnny Griffin, a next-door neighbor, said he’s known the family that lives in the house for years — a husband and wife who raised three boys there, according to reporting from WFAA. Husband Troy Brewer is a pilot and his wife is named Mary, a WFAA story said.
Some neighbors said they were not surprised by the news because police had visited the home before, the WFAA story said.
“Seen the police over here several times. You kind of figure anything can happen over there.” Griffin told a WFAA reporter. “They were over there quite a bit.”
