Two of the suspects in the beating of a DART passenger last weekend have been arrested, a DART spokesman says.
Jakobi Darion Hendrix, 21, and Remon Hendrix, 23, of Dallas, believed to be two of seven people seen in a video viciously beating DART passenger Kennan Jones on Sunday night, were arrested Thursday and Friday, DART spokesman Mark Ball said Friday morning.
Jakobi Hendrix was arrested at about 5 p.m. Thursday and is being held in the Lew Sterrett jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with bail set at $25,000.
Remon Hendrix was arrested at 12:41 a.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Lemmon Avenue on multiple warrants, including the DART assault, Ball said in an email.
Jones said he was attacked by a group of young people after he asked them to stop smoking pot on the train.
The attack by five males and two females happened on the northbound Green Line train Sunday night and lasted almost three minutes, ending on the platform at the Deep Ellum Station, where Jones appeared to be left unconscious.
