A man who had just finished helping the driver of a disabled vehicle was killed when a suspected drunken driver crashed into him late Wednesday, Dallas police said.
About 10:05 p.m. the victim, who has not been identified, was loading tools into his pickup truck after helping a female driver with a flat tire on the side of northbound Loop 12 near Interstate 30 when a 45-year-old womancrashed into the back of the pickup with her vehicle.
The victim was crushed between his pickup and the suspect’s Chrysler, which then caught fire. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken to Parkland Hospital with minor burns.
The suspect faces an intoxication manslaughter charge, police said.
