A UT Arlington student who aspired to run his family’s business in Mansfield was killed in a head-on wreck after a wrong-way driver slammed into his car near downtown Dallas on Monday night, WFAA reported.
Hussein Zaybek, 23, and Mohamed Zaybek, his 20-year-old brother who survived the crash, were in an Infiniti that was unrecognizable after the crash at about 11:45 p.m on southbound U.S. 75 at the Interstate 35 exit ramp, according to WFAA.
The wrong-way driver, Lauren Cordova, 27, was also killed after hitting the Infiniti in the southbound lane. Police are investigating but have not commented on what led to Cordova’s being northbound in the southbound lane, WFAA reported.
Court records show that Cordova was arrested in Rockwall in 2009, accused of driving under the influence, WFAA reported.
Mohamed Zaybek was taken to Parkland Hospital after Monday night’s wreck and suffered a broken arm and leg, according to the news organization.
