Farm Road 1938/Randol Mill Avenue is open after nearly two months of closure that created headaches for Northeast Tarrant County drivers.
The city of Southlake opened the road from Florence Road to Johnson Road today after finishing water and sewer utility relocation.
Crews closed the key north-south corridor in mid-June for the utility work, which was in preparation for a Texas Department of Transportation expansion.
The Texas Department of Transportation plans to expand Farm Road 1938 into a divided four-lane roadway with construction planned for January 2015.
Bob Price, Southlake Public Works Director, said drivers should expect more closures in the next two years as expansion begins.
A 2013 traffic study showed that the closed portion of the Randol Mill handled about 6,332 vehicles in either direction daily.
