Hundreds of underprivileged children were recently treated to a day of shopping at the Southlake Kohl’s.
Shelves were left bare after organizations teamed up to provide clothing to more than underprivileged children at the annual Around the Block clothing program by Kids Matter International and its partners.
Families shopped with more than 350 volunteers to buy $100 worth of clothing per child on Nov. 12.
Kids Matter International, a Southlake-based organization, teamed with Boston’s Pizza Foundation for the clothing. The Ryan Palmer Foundation gave each child a backpack and the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy handed out books. Dallas-based Buckner International gave pairs of shoes.
