A 5-year-old was killed and six others, including three children, were injured Saturday morning in a single-vehicle wreck near Arlington Municipal Airport.
The white sedan was traveling south in the 5100 block of South Collins Street at about 9:30 a.m. when the driver, identified by police as Valencia Freeman, 25, of Arlington, apparently lost control. The car crashed into a telephone pole, which then fell on the car, knocking out power in the area.
The police booked Freeman into Arlington Jail and charged her with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury, according to the jail’s inmate list. Bail was set at $55,000.
The Tarrant County medical examiner identified the child who died as Deunna Fairchild. She was pronounced dead at Medical Center of Arlington.
