Arlington man surrenders to police after barricading himself in his home

He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation, a police spokesman said.

A southwest Arlington man surrendered to police at about noon Saturday after barricading himself in his home for about three hours.

Police responded to the home in the 5900 block of Melstone Drive, near Lake Arlington, at about 9 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from the man’s wife, who had escaped the home, Sgt. Jeffrey Houston, a police spokesman, said in an email.

No injuries were reported. The man was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation after surrendering to officers, Houston said.
