Motorcycle driver killed in crash in Arlington

Police continue to investigate the wreck, which happened at about 1:40 p.m.

A man in his 50s was killed Saturday when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a car that was turning into a business parking lot in the 1700 block of West Arkansas Lane.

Police continue to investigate the wreck, which happened at about 1:40 p.m. The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, tried to turn left across the westbound lanes of Arkansas Lane to enter a business parking lot on the north side of the roadway, police said.

The man, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was treated for minor injuries.

Westbound Arkansas was closed west of Fielder for about 3 1/2 hours during the investigation. The victim’s identity will be released by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office once next of kin have been notified.
