Fielder House turns 100 with exhibit, open house
The Fielder House turns a century old this year with an open house and a new historical exhibit.
The casual, come-and-go event will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., at the museum, 1616 W. Abram St. The new exhibit focuses on the James Park Fielder family and was created by curator Nancy Bennett.
Never miss a local story.
Speakers will include historian O.K. Carter, author Caddos, Cotton and Cowboys: Essays on Arlington, and Martha May Martin, who will conduct a costumed “stairwell tour” about Arlington Downs and horse racing in Arlington.
Fielder was an attorney, pharmacist, farmer and Arlington alderman and a leader in bringing electrical service, sewage treatment, and curb-and-gutter streets to the city.
