An Elllis County man died early Tuesday afternoon after the pickup he was driving wrecked on northbound Texas 360 near Park Row, police said.

Edward Dawson, 88, of Waxahachie was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

The wreck was reported at about 1:40 p.m., said Tiara Ellis Richard, police spokeswoman.

Dawson was taken to Medical Center of Arlington, but he could not be saved, Richard said. Time of death was 2:10 p.m., the medical examiner reported.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police believe Dawson lost control of the truck and crashed into a couple of light poles on the median of Texas 360, Richard said.

She added that police were investigating whether a medical condition contributed to the wreck, but no other details were available.

“Intermittent lane closures occurred but the roadway has opened back up,” Richard said.
