A handful of roads in central Arlington will be closed as crews work to improve drainage near Arbrook Boulevard and McKinney Street to solve flooding issues, city spokeswoman Sana Syed said.
Crews began work Monday on the McKinney Street Drainage Project. Culvert construction will cause Randol Mill Road, from Davis Road to Fielder Road, to close until Jan. 27.
Arbrook Boulveard, from Bowen Road to Melear Drive, will be closed to through traffic Tuesday through March 21 as crews work to excavate the roadway, remove the existing culvert and install three new culverts for the Arbrook-Melear Drainage Project.
The water line and sanitary sewer line will be replaced and crews will rebuild the road and make a sidewalk to cross the creek, according to a city press release.
The roads just west of Glenbrook Drive will be completely closed, but homeowners will still have access to their homes, the release states. — Monica S. Nagy
