A pedestrian was struck and killed by a freight train at an east Arlington rail crossing just before midnight on Christmas Day, authorities reported.
The pedestrian was identified Regina Brown, 54, by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. Her town of residence was not listed on the ME’s website.
An eastbound train was approaching the crossing at Great Southwest Parkway and East Division Street when the woman was seen trying to cross the tracks, according to police. The train was traveling about 50 mph, and the crossing arms were down, police said. An investigation of the death continues, police said.
