State Sen. Kelly Hancock has proposed Senate Bill 451, which would prohibit counties or municipalities from banning short-term rentals, such as those on sites like Airbnb and HomeAway. Opponents say allowing such rentals in investor-owned properties disrupts private homeowners.
The Arlington City Council on Tuesday will consider a tax incentive proposal that would refund taxes on most of a proposed $105 million investment by UPS for a regional shipping facility in the Arlington Commerce Center south of Interstate 20.
