The Lamar Vikings summer baseball camp will run June 9-11 at the Lamar baseball field. The camp is for boys ages 6-14 and costs $60.

The camp focuses on baseball fundamentals such as catching, throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, base running and sliding. Campers will be grouped by age and ability level.

Lamar baseball coaches, college players and former Vikings players will instruct campers, who should bring their own glove, bat and cleats.

YMCA youth sports

Registration ends June 10 for the Arlington YMCA’s Aiming High volleyball camp, which runs June 16-20 and costs $19 for full members and $75 for program members.

The YMCA is also registering for a youth soccer skills camp that will run in August at the same price as the volleyball camp.

Arlington Parks and Recreation leagues

Registration ends May 31 for adult softball and kickball leagues from the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department.

Both activities begin play in June; the softball team fee is $350 and kickball is $225.

Registration is coming up for adult volleyball, basketball, flag football and inline hockey leagues, which begin play later.
