A car attempting to pass a tanker truck collided with another vehicle in Cleburne Wednesday morning, killing two motorists, Cleburne police said Wednesday.
A 27-year-old Granbury man died at the scene and the other motorist _ a 59-year-old Alvarado woman _ was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
The wreck was reported at 5:15 a.m. in the 5500 block of Farm Road 4 in Cleburne.
A 2014 Ford Focus was westbound on the road when it attempted to pass the tanker truck, police said. The Focus collided head-on with a 2003 Hyundai Sante Fe which was eastbound.

The driver of the Hyundai died at the scene, Cleburne police said. The victim was identified as Juan Juarez, 27, of Granbury, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Wednesday.
The female motorist driving the Focus died at the hospital, police said. She was identified as Kathy Heingin, 59, of Alvarado, according to the medical examiner’s website.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities continued on Wednesday to investigate the crash.
