The Fort Worth Housing Authority is holding its annual community resource fair from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

The free event will offer education and information about fire safety, Medicaid benefits, dental care, utility and rental assistance, youth programs and nurse aide training. There will also be free AIDS testing.

“It is a fun thing for the whole family,” said Alice Sykes, public relations specialist for the housing authority.

The Fort Worth Transportation Authority, known as the T, is offering free transportation to and from the fair at the Fort Worth Housing Authority office, which is at 1201 E. 13th St.

To take advantage of the free bus fare, residents need a copy of the 2014 Community Resource Fair flier, available at www.ftwha.org.

Participating agencies include the AIDS Outreach Center, Catholic Charities, Child Care Associates, the Fort Worth Fire Department, North Texas Community Health Centers and Tom Thumb.

There will be door prizes, snacks and other giveaways.
