An accident involving an 18-wheeler and a car shut down Interstate 35W in Fort Worth for a couple of hours on Tuesday, according to police reports.

One adult and two children were injured in the crash near the Rosedale Street exit in Fort Worth, police said, and were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Sand had spilled from the truck onto the interstate, which led to the closures, according to a WFAA-TV report.

All lanes were opened at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
