A man was in jail Thursday, accused of leading a patrol officer on a chase Wednesday, causing a four-vehicle wreck and then fleeing by jumping from a bridge in southwest Fort Worth.
Demetrius Donarde Brown, 25, was in the Mansfield jail facing charges of possession of marijuana and evading arrest. Bail was set at $10,000, according to jail records.
Tarrant County court records show Brown has a record of arrests for marijuana possession, unlawful carrying of a weapon, failure to identify as a fugitive and possession of a controlled substance.
His latest brush with police began about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of Southwest Boulevard, also called Texas 183, where the officer was “running a radar detail,” police said in an earlier report.

Brown, driving a 2003 Cadillac CTS, refused to pull over and sped away, police said. A pursuit ended when Brown “wrecked out,” police said.
Of the four vehicles involved, only one driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Brown tried to run away and jumped from a bridge on Southwest Boulevard where it spans West Vickery Boulevard, police said. The drop was about 30-40 feet, police said.
He was taken to the hospital before going to jail, police said.
