Construction contracts slow in November but still well ahead of 2012

Construction contracts for North Texas residential projects dipped in November but rose slightly for commercial projects, and activity remained well ahead of the 2012 for the first 11 months of 2013, according to the latest report from McGraw Hill Construction.
In November, nonresidential contracts in the 12-county region totaled $394.5 million, 1 percent ahead of November 2012.
Residential contracts totaled $554 million, 5 percent less than the $585 million in contracts a year ago, the report said.
Together, residential and nonresidential contracts totaled $948.5 million in November, 3 percent below the November 2012 total of $977.5 million.
For the first 11 months of 2013, commercial contracts totaled $5 billion, up 32 percent from $3.7 billion for the same period in 2012.
Residential contracts totaled $7.7 billion, up 21 percent from $6.4 billion for the same period in 2012, McGraw Hill said.
When totaled at $12.7 billion, the figure stands 25 percent ahead of 2012.
Anytime Fitness leases along Eighth Avenue
Anytime Fitness is going into the Historic Pharmacy Building on Eighth Avenue.
The club, a franchise of Jeff Mannon and Mannon Fitness, has leased 4,452 square feet at 1710 Eighth Ave. from Park Hill Real Estate Partners.
Anytime Fitness is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Fort Worth location will feature security and surveillance systems as well as fitness equipment.
Gary Vasseur of Coldwell Banker Commercial Searcy Vasseur Group represented the landlord. Cory McCord and Trey Hodge of Retail Plazas represented the tenant.
2916 Kraft St., Arlington
Blue Clouds Health Care and Treat Now Family Care have leased 1,809 square feet of office space in Arlington Oaks from One Oak Over the Line LLC. Judy Zoch-Nitzinger of SCM Real Estate Services represented the landlord. John O. Jones of the Newberry Co. represented the tenant.
1630 E. Lamar Blvd., Arlington
Choice ATM Enterprises has bought the 17,500-square-foot Lamar Plaza from Sterling Properties Joint Venture. Darrel Higginbotham of SCM Real Estate Services represented the seller. Tom Ritter represented the buyer.
250 Roberts Cut Off Road, Fort Worth
Carol Wilbur Barnest GST Trust has bought a 24,500-square-foot warehouse on 0.8 acre from Brenda Crow Miller. Theron Bryant of SCM Real Estate Services represented the buyer. Paul McKinney of McKinney Commercial Real Estate represented the seller.

Southern Shingles has leased 46,082 square feet of industrial space. Donnie Rohde and George Jennings of Holt Lunsford Commercial represented the landlord, Nussbaum Properties. Buddy Turner of Avison Young represented the tenant.
