Instead of snakes, it’s sharks on a plane.
On Thursday, Southwest Airlines debuted a special livery dedicated to the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, which will air June 26 through July 3. Southwest said the aircraft will fly with the livery through the end of summer.
“Now more than ever, brands have to be creative and unique in their approach to reach new customers,” said Southwest’s chief communications officer Linda Rutherford. “Partnering with Discovery’s Shark Week allows Southwest to connect with our customers in a fun and memorable way.”
The Dallas-based carrier also handed out Shark Week items to passengers on flight 10 from Love Field to Orange County on Thursday morning. Passengers received Shark Week-themed neck pillows, fin hats, buttons, koozies, sunglasses and washable tattoos.
