Ameriflight moving headquarters to DFW from California

The cargo carrier, which performs contract work for FedEx, UPS and DHL, plans to add 80 jobs in North Texas by the middle of next year.

Cargo carrier Ameriflight announced Thursday that it will move its headquarters to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport this year.

The carrier, which performs contract work for FedEx, UPS and DHL, now has its operations in Burbank, Calif., with 600 employees and 170 planes. It already has 40 employees at its DFW facility and plans to add 80 by the middle of next year.

“Relocation to DFW will allow us to better serve our customers throughout North and South America, as well as centralize our operations at a major international hub in the nation’s geographic core,” Ameriflight President Andrew Lotter said.

Ameriflight plans to move personnel from its flight, maintenance, safety and quality departments to DFW starting in September. It will also hire pilots as it expands operations, the company said.
