Is north Fort Worth getting another Wal-Mart store?
Hillwood Communities has sold 27.4 acres at the intersection of Heritage Trace Parkway and Beach Street to Wal-Mart Stores.
The land sales includes 12 acres on the southeast corner of the intersection for a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and 15.4 acres on the on the northeast corner to a medical developer, according to Venture Commercial, the brokerage that handled the sale.
Wal-Mart is also planning a Wal-Mart Supercenter at the future southeast corner of Golden Triangle and Park Vista boulevards in north Fort Worth. The retailer has asked the city for $12 million in incentives for the project, which includes the construction of a road.
Ken Reimer, Edward Bogel and David Davidson Jr. of Venture represented Hillwood. The Tom Hudson Co. represented Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust, the buyer.
Burleson recording rise in new home construction
The city of Burleson has released a report saying 360 homes were built in the city last year, a 25 percent increase from 2012. But more than 400 homes are expected to be built this year, the report said.
The average value was $192,000, up 30 percent from 2012, and average size was 2,450 square feet. Over half of the new homes were over 3,000 square feet, more than twice the percentage in 2012.
Mistletoe Hill, Shannon Creek, West Bend South, and Hidden Vistas were the most active neighborhoods.
“Home construction isn't anything new to Burleson, but the type of homes being built in the last 12 to 18 months is trending in the direction we would like to see,” Economic Development Manager Justin Bond said.
Movie theater planned for Lakeside DFW development
Austin-based Moviehouse & Eatery dine-in theater is planning a location at the northwest corner of Lakeside Parkway and Farm Road 2499 in Flower Mound’s Lakeside DFW development.
It is set to open in 2015.
Flower Mound Mayor Tom Hayden called the project a cornerstone of the Lakeside development, overlooking Grapevine Lake.
“Based upon Austin’s success, we anticipate more than 300,000 visitors annually to the Flower Mound location,” he said.
The theater will feature reclining seats and will have eight screens and full food and beverage service.
Delta Tee International has leased 14,000 square feet of office/warehouse space in the Arlington South Industrial Park. Phil Young and Jim Maibach of Peyco Southwest Realty represented the landlord.
Braun Family Properties has bought the former Ace Hardware distribuition center, a 313,091-square-foot building on 10 acres, from Heller-Roberts Texas. John Brewer and Brian Gilchrist of CBRE Arlington represented the seller. CBRE represented the buyer.
Champion Window and Door has leased 10,800 square feet of office/warehouse/showroom space in the Northern Crossing West Business Park. Jordan Foster and Jim Maibach of Peyco Southwest Realty represented the tenant. Amy Baker and Sarah Everett of Transwestern represented the landlord.
Affordable Attractive Realty has bought the Living Water Baptist Church. The church has bought the Church of Christ at Kennedale property. Gene Livens of Service Realty negotiated the deals.
Gilbert Quintanilla Jr. has bought a 13,000-square-foot industrial building from Allyn Needham. William Myers of Colonial Commercial Real Estate represented the seller.
