Taking sides: On the Fort Worth arena plan

The Fort Worth City Council voted Tuesday to call an election on building a $450 million arena in the cultural district to attract more business to the city. A non-profit group has pledged to raise at least half the money.

Columnists Cynthia Allen and Bob Ray Sanders discuss the proposal, and how it’s likely to be received if it makes it onto the November ballot.

It’s the first step toward eliminating the arena at the Convention Center and expanding that facility, says Sanders. But just what will the arena be used for?
