Police asked for the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run driver who left a bicycle rider injured on Farm Road 1187 Wednesday night.
The bicyclist had stopped his bike to tie his shoe when he was hit about 8 p.m. by a vehicle that he and a witness described as a small white or gray sport utility vehicle, according to a news release from Crowley police.
The witness, who was in westbound lanes, saw the vehicle brake briefly and then veer around something before turning right onto Business 1187 and continue without stopping.
When the witness saw the injured rider, he called 911.

The rider was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with broken bones and internal bleeding.
The suspect’s vehicle likely will have fresh damage to the front, hood and/or side, the news release said.
