A security guard at a bar in Grand Prairie sustained multiple gunshot wounds about 2 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive, said Grand Prairie Police spokesman Mark Beseda.

Officers found the man when they responded to a shooting call at Roy’s Bar in the 2400 block of West Jefferson. Another man identified by witnesses as a bar patron was arrested about 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Watson Road, Beseda said in a news release.

Neither the victim nor the suspect were identified, but the suspect remained in Grand Prairie Detention Center Saturday charged with aggravated assault, Beseda said.
