Zahna Medley scored 22 points and Chelsea Prince had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead TCU to an 87-64 victory over Houston Baptist on Friday, giving coach Raegan Pebley a victory in her regular-season debut with the Horned Frogs at the University Recreation Center.
TCU’s Alexia Standish also finished in double figures with 12 points in her TCU debut, and Donielle Breaux had 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists as the Frogs shot 51.6 percent (16 of 31) from the field in the first half on the way to a 54-28 lead at the break.
The Frogs trailed the Southland Conference’s Huskies by seven points less than two minutes into the game before Breaux and Standish each scored five points to whittle the lead to 13-12 with 16:14 left in the first half.
Sophomore forward Jada Butts, who finished with eight points, gave the Frogs their first lead since the opening basket of the game, and TCU strung together a 19-2 run over the next seven minutes.

Medley had 17 points in the first half, while Standish had 12 and Prince nine.
TCU scored the first eight points of the second half to open a 34-point lead, 62-28, with 17:49 left.
For the game, the Frogs shot 40.6 percent from the field and 8 of 23 from 3-point range. Medley was 7 of 12 shooting, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
Shanice Steenholdt led Houston Baptist with 26 points and 12 rebounds. The Huskies outrebounded TCU 50-44.
TCU will play at Georgia on Sunday before returning home for games against SMU on Wednesday and Texas Southern on Nov. 22.
