The daily STEW (Star-Telegram Editorial Writers): Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has started making the media rounds promoting her new book — and, one would guess, testing the political waters for a run for the presidency in 2016. Is she a welcome sight in today’s politics or the wrong person for the times?
No more Clintons, no more Bushes, no more establishment politicians period. Electing a candidate who simply toes the party line is why we are in the mess we are in. A vote for Hillary is another vote to destroy what’s left of the country. We’re still suffering from the effects of NAFTA and the collapse of the housing market (in large part due to Bill Clinton forcing mortgage companies to lower their standards via “dream act” legislation). Add to that the cost of the wars started under George W. Bush and expanded under Obama, and it won’t take much of an anti-industry push to send this country right down the drain. Not to mention she has failed at all of her previous jobs. Jeff Dunlop
What difference does it make!?! Frank Ramirez
She has my support. I have not seen a better, more qualified candidate put forward by any party. Katie Martinez
Never miss a local story.
Clinton is no better and no worse than any of the other members of the permanent governing class who will seek the presidency in 2016. If you vote for the same people over and over again, who is really to blame for the poor job our government does? If a candidate does not endorse term limits for all federal elected offices, don’t vote for them. Michael Hathoot
No, no, no. Lindsay Schaechtel
Nope. I would love to have a female president, but the right one has not come up yet. Besides, Hillary has already been president. JC Ramirez
Yes, please! We need Hillary to step up so we don’t get Ted Cruz. Judy A. Jaeger
She’s most welcomed by the GOP, but they’ll never admit it! If she runs, she’ll split the Democratic Party wide open. Republicans lie awake nights praying for her to get into the act. Michael Bellew
Yes she is. David Moen
