Readers comment on Bob Ray Sanders’ Sunday column, “Famous black surgeon a disappointing hero,” about surgeon/political figure Ben Carson, on star-telegram.com:
Some people cannot handle a black conservative. He makes his own remarks and the left cannot handle the truth from a black man, drives them crazy. Seems like every black conservative goes through these attacks.
What you are saying is that as long as he agrees with you he is a hero? When he voices an opinion based on his lifelong successful work experience and that opinion disagrees with the left, he becomes a disappointment? I suggest that you explore why you have allowed yourself to become a tool used by the left to spew their vitriol at any black conservative. Herb Rabinowitz

He is one of the least likely men in America to allow others to tell him his position on anything… I see his views as purely logical and it takes real courage to stand up for them, considering the dark climate of today’s political scene. Janice Thompsen
