The daily STEW (Star-Telegram Editorial Writers): Recreational use of marijuana is now legal in Colorado, although sellers must be licensed and the product is heavily taxed. Backers are trying to get legalization on ballots in as many as eight other states by 2016. Do you believe this movement will succeed in legalizing pot elsewhere, or will there be a social backlash?
A reporter compared it to the end of prohibition. I think it’s good for cancer patients and people with other chronic pain so they don’t have to jump through all those hoops to feel better. Treat it like cigarettes/alcohol and I’m sure we’ll do just fine. Joe Black

The negative perception of pot is outdated and based on huge misconceptions. It’s time to stop wasting billions of taxpayer dollars fighting it and start bringing in some cash on the taxation of it for a change.
There will be no backlash and if there is, it will not be heard over the sound of money — tax money — being counted.
