West Berry Street will be closed between Hemphill and South Main streets at least until Saturday night because of a water main break, according to a city spokeswoman.
The water main break on Tuesday affected the concrete road surface, said Mary Gugliuzza, a spokeswoman for the city water and wastewater department.
The 12-inch water main was repaired by Wednesday, but crews won’t be able to pour fresh concrete until Friday, she said.
The pouring will be done Friday and won’t be ready for traffic until at least Saturday night, Gugliuzza said.

“We anticipate late Saturday, but the weather could play a role,” she said. — Monica S. Nagy
