Texas artist Stephen Daly uses a visual notation, much like calligraphy, as a means of communication in his drawings. At first glance, his drawings look like a musical score that has lost its grounding stave and clef mark. He admits it is a similar notation. “A mix of formal, symbolic and referential elements converge to bring viewers into a ballpark of content or associations,” he says. The takeaway is through individual interpretation. The exhibition “Signals,” featuring drawings and two sculptures, will be on display through Nov. 15 at William Campbell Contemporary Art, 4935 Byers Ave., Fort Worth. 817-737-9566; www.williamcampbellcontemporaryart.com.
