The Dallas Cowboys’ new headquarters complex in Frisco is getting bigger — and more luxurious.
The Cowboys and Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts said Thursday they are partnering to develop a new hotel at the team’s future home, being built on a 91-acre tract at the northwest corner of Warren parkway and the Dallas North Tollway.
The Omni will be one of the only full-service upscale hotels in the area, and serve as a cornerstone of the mixed-use development to be anchored by the Cowboys World Headquarters and an indoor 12,000-seat stadium that will be shared with the Frisco high schools.
The Omni Frisco Hotel will feature 300 finely appointed guest rooms, meeting space and a ballroom, and several food and beverage experiences, including a rooftop pool deck.
“This promises to be a powerhouse development that will attract millions of people each year to the vibrant Frisco community,” said Mike Deitemeyer, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. The company operates convention center hotels in Fort Worth and Dallas, as well as the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas and the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West.
The mixed-use development will also include corporate offices, retailers and restaurants.
The Cowboys plan to move into their new headquarters from Valley Ranch in Irving in the fall of 2016. It will include two outdoor practice fields reserved exclusively for the Cowboys and may host training camp.
The Omni Frisco Hotel is expected to break ground in the spring of 2015, with a scheduled opening set for early 2017.
