FORT WORTH -- A two-alarm fire in a smokestack in a paint-supply company near the Stockyards brought out the Fort Worth Fire Department's hazardous materials unit Thursday night, a fire spokesman said.

The call came from the 300 block of Northeast 21st Street at 9:50 p.m., a dispatcher said. The fire was at a plant at 500 E. Central.

The fire was contained inside a smokestack on the top of the building, Lt. Kent Worley said.

The hazmat team was called mainly as a precaution because of paint and adhesives in the building, Worley said.
