Cub Scouts race in Pinewood Derby

Ready, Set, Race! was the theme Jan. 29 when Cub Scout Pack 1993, sponsored by First United Methodist Church and affiliated with J.L. Boren Elementary, put the finishing touches on their racing cars and launched them down the six-lane wood Pinewood Derby track. Fifty-three Cub Scouts and siblings assembled at Mansfield's Rock Gym and raced as hard as they could. Even the adults got into the fray this year with their own Open Division where they could use a Pinewood Derby car from any decade, even one they may have raced as a youth.Read more

FFA posts winners at Tri-Chapter show

The 12th annual Tri-Chapter Agriscience Fair was held Jan. 7 at the Reed Stewart Agriculture Center. FFA chapters from Arlington, Mansfield and Martin high schools make up the Tri-Chapter Fair. There were approximately 214 entries, with 30 from the Mansfield FFA Chapter.Read more
