Architecture students design winning projects

Architecture student Thomas Kelly, a member of the Architecture SkillsUSA youth organization at Ben Barber Career & Technology Academy, competed at the SkillsUSA District 4 Competition. Thomas competed in the Architecture Design and in the Innovative Architecture and Construction contest. Thomas won a first-place gold medal for his design project of an amusement park model in the Innovative contest.

Mansfield Sunrise Rotary Club (2014 Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Organization of the Year) will be moving our meetings from its current location to Mansfield Methodist Medical Center. We will meet in the physicians’ conference room at the hospital beginning 7 a.m. March 6. Come visit us and discover ways to make a difference in our community and around the world. We would also like to thank First United Methodist Church for nine years of hospitality allowing us to meet in their facility.

The 15th annual Mansfield Cares Charity Ball flashed back to the 70s with the disco band Le Freak. Approximately 350 party-goers dressed for the decade with peace signs, headbands, afros and bell-bottom pants at Walnut Creek Country Club on Saturday night.

Symphony gives preview

The Legacy High School Wind Symphony will be performing a National Concert Band Preview Concert at 7 p.m. March 3. The concert, which will also feature the UTA Wind Symphony, will be in the Cunningham Performance Hall of the Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts. Cost is $5; free for students and teachers with valid MISD ID.
