Cardboard boat regatta sets sail

Preschoolers ride for children’s hospital

St. John Lutheran Preschool has participated in the St. Jude Trike A Thon since 2002. The preschool chose St. Jude because no child is denied treatment from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because of an inability to pay. The school has raised thousands of dollars for St. Jude, including $1,459 last year. The school will collect through March 28 for this year’s donation.

The Water Utility Department and Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission are giving Mansfield residents the opportunity to dispose of unwanted, bulky items free of charge from 7 a.m. to noon March 29 at R.L. Anderson Stadium, 1016 Magnolia St.

College Honors

Kaylee Barnett of Mansfield was one of 395 students at Ouachita Baptist University who were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester. The students will receive a certificate of recognition from Ouachita and will be included in the National Dean’s List for 2013-14. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must compile at least a 3.5 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours.
