I am so fortunate and count my blessings daily to have some truly great friends. Friends that bring chicken soup over when I'm sick and friends that bring Christmas cookies to me when I'm so busy at work that I've missed every holiday party in town.
Friends that tell me my new hair cut/color looks good even though my daughter has told me it looks awful and that it makes me look at least 10 years older. Friends that serve as guinea pigs for new recipes and friends that request their favorites over and over.Read more

How has this sub-genre of children's fantasy novel adaptations survived into a new decade? Since the titanic success (or perhaps now it should be "Avatar" success) of the Harry Potter films, studios have been grabbing the rights to any young adult novel having anything to do with the magical or paranormal.
Sometimes they hit oil ("Twilight"), but mostly we've gotten a series of bombs, including "Eragon," "A Series of Unfortunate Events," "The Dark is Rising," "Inkheart" and "The Golden Compass."Read more
