Special election to fill Place 2 on Colleyville council set for Aug. 1

COLLEYVILLE — A special election will be held Aug. 1 to fill the Place 2 City Council seat vacated by Tony Licata, who resigned after being accused of assaulting a foreign-exchange student staying at his home in November. The term expires in May.

Candidate filing began Wednesday and ends July 1. Early voting is July 15-28. All voting will be conducted at City Hall, 100 Main St.

Voting schedule

July 15-17 and 20-25: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

July 26: 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

July 27-28 and Aug. 1: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
