Voters allow alcohol sales, reauthorize taxes for streets

Expanding alcohol sales, amending city charters and bond referendums were among the items on Saturday’s ballot.

Everman Proposition 1: In unofficial results, voters were 84 percent to 16 percent in favor of reauthorizing a quarter-cent sales tax for street maintenance and repair.

Grand Prairie Proposition 1: In complete but unofficial results, Grand Prairie voters were 85 percent to 15 percent in favor of reauthorizing a quarter-cent sales tax for street maintenance and repair.

Pantego Proposition 1: In complete but unofficial results, voters were 94 percent to 6 percent in favor of reauthorizing a one-fourth-cent sales tax for street maintenance and repair.

Richland Hills Proposition 1: In complete but unofficial results, 74 percent favored building a community center at Kate Baker Park using city tax dollars.

Westlake

Proposition 1: In complete but unofficial results, voters were 85 percent to 15 percent in favor of permitting mixed-beverages sales in restaurants.

Proposition 2: In complete but unofficial results, voters approved 56 percent to 44 percent the sales of all alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption.

Cleburne

Proposition 1: In final but unofficial results, Cleburne voters voted 65 percent to 35 percent to allow beer and wine sales in convenience and grocery stores for off-premises consumption.

Proposition 2: In final but unofficial results, Cleburne voters were in favor of allowing restaurants in Cleburne to obtain licenses and sell mixed beverages.
