Depict dear ol' Dad in our contest

For years, you've drawn inspiration from your loving father.

Now we'd like you to use that inspiration to draw your father.

In honor of dear ol' Dad, we're holding our first Father's Day Art Contest. Let your creative juices flow and create an original artwork of your Dad. From crayons and markers to paint and watercolor, the option is yours as far as how you wish to illustrate Dad.

A panel of judges will select winners in five age categories: preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and 18 and older. The winners from each category will receive gift cards to local art supply stores.

What you need to do: In addition to the original artwork, you'll also need to send a photograph of your Dad and write to us (in 50 words or less) how you've been inspired by your father. Please include your name, age, address and phone number. Artwork and photographs will not be returned. Only one entry per person, please.

How to enter: Mail your original artwork, photograph of your Dad and your letter to: Features, Father's Day Art Contest, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 400 W. Seventh St., Fort Worth, TX 76102. You can also drop off entries at the front desk of the Star-Telegram's downtown office.

If you're a winner: We will photograph you and your father in our downtown Fort Worth office. The photos will appear in our Father's Day package June 15.

Deadline: Entries must be received by 5 p.m. May 23.

Who can enter: You must live in or around Tarrant County. The contest is not open to employees of the Star-Telegram or their families.
