Honoring veterans at Reata

To recognize the service of members of America’s Armed Forces, Reata Restaurant is offering a special fixed-price three-course menu that will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. From today until Nov. 19, order a special $35 meal ($20 additional for wine pairings) and $7 of the price will be donated to the charitable organization, which provides services to severely wounded service members and veterans. The meal includes a field greens salad with Texas goat cheese; a choice of pepper-crusted tenderloin, airline chicken breast or Chilean sea bass; and a choice of Dutch-oven apple crisp or molten chocolate cake. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Call 817-336-1009, or go to www.reata.net and click on the "Wounded Warrior Project" icon. Reata is at 310 Houston St., Fort Worth.

Glass act

David Gappa has been blowing hot air into molten glass for 10 years now, and it seemed an appropriate time to celebrate that milestone. Friday night, Gappa will be hosting a "Glass on the Tracks" party at the Railroad Depot in Grapevine beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will include his popular Truth or Consequences Auction, where artwork is either auctioned or smashed to smithereens. Major objets as well as ornaments, wine goblets and glass jewelry will be for sale, and glass blowers will give continuous demonstrations. 701 Main St., Grapevine. $5 per person. 817-251-1668; www.VetroArtGlass.com.
