Rugs of many styles, patterns and motifs

Oriental rugs are generally named for a town or region in Persia, Turkey or the Caucasus where the designs originated, and most are now woven throughout the Middle and Far East. Patterns may be geometric or curvilinear (floral), with all gradations between the two. The major features include the border and the field, with the latter setting the rug’s overall color tone and showcasing a central medallion or a repeating design.
