July 1 is a good day for an ice-cream party, and that’s when Melt Ice Creams will throw a big one to celebrate the opening of its newer, larger shop at 1201 W. Magnolia Ave., Suite 115.
The popular but tiny Rosedale Street shop, where you can often find customers slurping their cones in the small parking lot because all the seats inside are taken, announced the move in January, and owners Kari Crowe Seher and Mark Seher have been working on construction since then.
Everything about the new place is bigger: bigger kitchen, large patio, bigger parking lot (“with more than five spaces!!,” a release says, and if you’ve ever tried to park at the Rosedale shop on a crowded day, you know those two exclamation points are justified).
And more party space, starting with the party Melt is throwing from noon to 11 p.m. at the new Magnolia shop, which is part of a recent surge on the already food-heavy street with this week’s opening of Bentley’s, a hot dog/crepes/coffee spot, and the much-anticipated opening of Heim Barbecue’s brick-and-mortar, which will be very close to the new Melt.
