If your favorite Mexican restaurant is missing, check around:
▪ Revolver Taco Lounge’s lease ends July 1 and owner Gino Rojas is unsure if or where he’ll move.
“It would make a good soap opera,” he said on the DFW.com Eats Beat podcast, lamenting the loss of Revolver’s 1960-vintage West Seventh Street space despite the lack of parking.
He’s shopping for a new Fort Worth space, if needed, and also continuing work on a coming Revolver in Deep Ellum.
Never miss a local story.
Meanwhile, his new ranch-style restaurant on the north side, Campestre Chula Vista, plans both its weekly $15 guisado lunch on Mother’s Day and a more elaborate dinner after 3:30 p.m.
For $49, Campestre will serve a three-course dinner with soup or appetizer, mole pipian or mole coloradito and tres leches cake.
(Note: The Rojas restaurants serve made-from-scratch interior Mexico dishes at what can be a painstakingly slow pace.)
Campestre Chula Vista is open weekends only at 1950 Menefee Ave., near Texas 183 and Texas 199.
▪ Enchiladas Olé is taking a month off for remodeling beginning Sunday.
▪ Paco & John Mexican Diner’s lease ends May 30.
The tiny Yucatecano spinoff of Saint-Émilion, ranked one of Texas’ best interior Mexican restaurants but suffering for lack of a bar, will close that day if not sooner; 1116 Eighth Ave., 817-810-0032, pacoandjohn.com.
▪ Salsa Fuego, another high-ranked restaurant with sometimes-tedious service, is open in its new location at 3500 Alta Mere Drive; 817-560-7888.
Steak for Mom?
Mother’s Day tables are still available at most of the top restaurants, including prime steakhouses.
For the first time in memory, Bob’s Steak & Chop House in downtown Fort Worth is opening at noon Sunday to serve a special four-course, $60 menu.
Moms and families can choose a cocktail, soup or salad and appetizer and a choice of a filet, sea bass or pork chop, plus crème brûlée, Key lime pie or carrot cake; 1300 Houston St., 817-350-4100, bobs-steakandchop.com.
Capital Grille, Chop House or Ruth’s Chris downtown and The Zodiac, inside Neiman Marcus, are among other restaurants that had tables available at midweek on opentable.com.
