I love to learn. So, it's been wonderful to see my 10-month-old become so fascinated with books at an early age. He's learned to turn the pages as if he's really reading the book. This weekend, I suggest you and your family explore all of the facets of learning: introduce your youngsters to the smooth sounds of jazz, get nuggets of info about your furry friend -- the guinea pig, teach your kids to be more active or explore the art world. Here are some ideas:

1. Denton Arts & Jazz Festival: Bring your chairs and blankets to hear the cool sounds of jazz. This annual fest will be jam-packed with food, art and all-local talent including the UNT One O'Clock Band, the Quebe Sisters and Brave Combo. Kids can participate in arts and crafts and games.
Good to know: Coolers are prohibited in the jazz area. No pets; service dogs only.
