Like so many women, I resolve each year to be healthier.

Actually, the resolution is more like: Can I lose 20 pounds and still eat this bag of potato chips? (Answer: No).

It's always good to get a reality check on life. That's why Baylor Health's For Women, For Life is essential for any women who plans on starting a new workout or eating regiment.

FWFL offers free health screenings to participants as well as informational booths and health presentations by physicians and other health professionals. A couple of years ago, I attended the event at the Plano and found a plethora of information. I also decided to switch fertility doctors after one of the programs at Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth. Some of the events even offer breakfast, chair massages and fitness demos.

Best of all, it's free! However, you must register in advance so don't wait. Get your girlfriends together and create a plan, not a resolution, to get healthy this year. See you there!

The annual women's health event offers free health screenings, info booths and health presentations will be held on Saturday, January 22 at Baylor medical centers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
